Nigerian-American Hip-Hop and afrobeat artist Teeklef releases a new single entitled “A Prayer for (Black) America”. The song is a commentary on the current state of the U.S. and the world and asks difficult questions about civil rights and social justice.

Teeklef is not known to be politically explicitly, but as a Black man in America, an immigrant, and a father, it is important to add to the chorus of brave and talented voices currently speaking up against systemic racism.

After the gruesome murder of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, Teeklef took to the streets in his current home of Indianapolis and stood with protesters. Frustrated by the difficulties presented to the Black community in the US and inspired by the reactions of so many people calling for change, he returned to his studio and wrote this song. “A Prayer for (Black) America” is a meditation on life as a Black person in America, but it is also a call to action to all of America to stand up, march for equality, and ‘say their names.’

Recall that George Floyd was choked to death by cops on the streets of Minneapolis sparking worldwide outrage and outcry against police brutality. Similarly, Breonna Taylor was fatally shot by Louisville Metro Police Department officers while asleep in her bedroom after they had forcefully entered into her home.

Lala Rimka releases visuals to his new single titled Okiki. The fast-rising Beninoise has been in pretty good form and decides to cap it up with a video.  Okiki is a song delivered in the local Yoruba language spoken by the western part of Africa, mainly Nigeria and Benin. The title of the song “Okiki” means fame or popularity, he is basically praying to God to bless him with fame.

Parris LaDame is definitely the most serious brand in Naptown. She has been repping for the entire mid-west and is one of the acts that I have paid top dollar to grace my events. Her new music video “Pop it” is out and is currently the talk of the west-side of Indianapolis. This represents her first single for the year although the orange hair artist did put out “Do it” music video and “Orange head” freestyle in 2020

Last year, she won the award for Best Single of the year for an international artist at the Afrique Entertainment Awards. Parris Ladame is very popular on the streets and especially with the female folks and she uses this to her advantage in her new video. Wizzy Wee is definitely one of Nigeria’s biggest artists in the diaspora. He consistently puts out quality music and super fresh music videos and you have no choice but to love him. I call him the ladies man, he is cool, calm and collected and delivers some of the wittiest rap bars in an effortless manner.

Real name Wisdom Akataobi, Wizzywee became a popular figure in Port Harcourt Nigeria before venturing into the USA. At the time, he was the second half of a two-man group known as sugarboiz signed Under H-records – a record company that was heavily linked to DJ humility. Wizzy wee since migrated to the USA and is having a time of his life,  putting out some of the heaviest hits in the American music scene.
