The music business is a very lucrative business. Revenues can stack up quickly and profit can run into millions of dollars, but it is also a pretty unpredictable business and many artists are unable to reach their full potential mainly due to the fact that they do not have the capital to cover the expenses associated with running a healthy music business. This is the reason companies such as Pinaza records take the initiative to set up structures that can ensure the success of talented youths in Nigeria.

Pinaza Records is owned by Architect, businessman, Philanthropist, and renowned human rights activist Chief Piniki Azaiye. The company launched in 2019 with the aim of taking artists in the Niger-delta to the next level. They have been involved in numerous entertainment-related projects in the Niger-delta already including The Homecoming of Elvis Poko which was hosted in conjunction with Africa Magic, The Pinaza unveiling which featured Harrysong, Niger-delta Ijaw day and award night in conjunction with alterplate records and Wafftv, and more recently, the Wizkid live in Warri concert that failed to hold due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus.

So far, the label has 4 artists on its roster who have already put out great singles in the market. They are Austin Okerenkoko aka Shanky Grey,  Marvel Genekama popularly known as Vhino Kama, Gideon Ebipade known as Darlingrind, and Lizberg whose real names are Lisbon Awiki. Listen to the first set of songs put out by the newly signed Pinaza record artists below.

Pinaza records is managed by Darlington Isiayei.

The South-south region of Nigeria is not only known for its oil wealth but it is also recognized for the number of amazing talents the region has produced. Shanky Grey, real name Austin Okerenkoko is a talented Highlife and Afro-pop musician who hails from Warri, an industrious city in the southern part of Nigeria. Shanky as he is often called brings with him a unique sound that he would like to showcase to the world. Currently signed to Pinaza Records, he has been in the spotlight since the news of his recording deal became public.

His new single “No other” reminds me of songs like Mami water by victor Owifo and “Yellow sisi” by cardinal Rex Lawson during the good old days of Highlife music. No other has all the signs of a great riverine Jam and is expected to perform well on chats across the globe especially in the Southern oil-rich cities of the Niger-delta.
