On Saturday 21st of September 2019, one of Nigeria’s brightest stars came through Indianapolis USA via Club Kalakutah, and dished out an energetic performance to remember.

Teni, also known as Sugar mummy walked up on the stage and immediately started connecting with her fans. “ Security!, remove all the gated barriers”, Teni ordered. “I want to speak to my people, they won’t kill me”…she said. Seconds later all the barriers surrounding the stage were removed and it did not take long for the crowd to be all over the stage and have a feel of their sugar mummy.

Her performance went on for another 45 mins and when it ended, everyone left the club happy and satisfied with her performance. She stayed back a for a little photo session before exiting the club in a 2019 Lexus SUV. Below are some footages from the event.

Other performances were top notch too, Pmartt, Oluwa bj , and Prince P set the stage on fire.

Reekado Banks Joins a long list of A-list celebrities to have made appearances in Indianapolis this summer. It has been announced that Teni Makanaki, DBanj, and wande coal will make appearances in the city on the 21st of September, October 26th, and November 30th respectively.

It has sure been one hot summer in 2019. Here are visuals of how Reekado shut it down in Indianapolis in arguably the hottest event in the city this summer. Afrorolls, Decee, Timmy rochy, Timisingsong, and event host A.O were on hand to entertain the energetic crowd with great music.

The name Kalakutah originates from Nigeria. It refers to a breakaway state created by Nigeria’s music Legend and Afrobeat founder Fela Anikulapo Kuti. He created the state to be free from Government interference, Police brutality, corruption, and bad policies. In other words, it is meant to be a place to freely enjoy what you love doing.

It was like a carnival last night as Club Kalakutah played host to a Nigerian music Legend, in the person of Dr Sid . I literally saw everyone i know in the city last Night, it was fun and colorful . For those who may be wondering who Dr Sid is , Dr Sid is a Legendary Nigerian artiste that made his way into the Nigerian music industry in the late 90’s through the group Trybesmen . The group is credited in many quarters as being one of the founders of Hiphop music in Nigeria . He later went on to sign for Mo’ Hits and became label mates with the likes of Dbanj , Wande Cole , Ikechukwu, D’ Prince and Don Jazzy,  during which they made hit singles such as Champagne , Why me , Booty call , and close to you.

In 2012 Mo’ hits split up following a disagreement between Don Jazzy and Dbanj and this led to the formation of a new company Owned by Don Jazzy called Mavin Records . Dr Sid opted to go with Don Jazzy. He has since established himself as a force to reckon with under the new company and has scored hit singles such as Oyari, Surulere , Kabiyesi just to mention a few.  Shout out to Ashipa World, SOB Entertainment, and Club Kalakutah for hosting a Legend .

It was a really bright atmosphere last night at Club Kalakutah as one of Indiana’s most prominent Disc Jockeys, Dj Drey , celebrated his birthday last night . The exclusive event was attended by his closest friends , family and associates . The night featured high life performances by Akin Olowo and comedy by Mc ChrisJoe Jagaban . Another outstanding Dj from Indianapolis , DJ Xclone was on the wheels of steel dishing out a compilation of songs befitting of a colleague’s birthday party.

Club Kalakutah, named after the Nigerian Afro-beat Legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti, is the arguably the biggest African club in Indianapolis, and one of the very few clubs that play Afro-beat and high-life music in the city . It houses the most African parties, especially on the weekends. Flex Saturday, is already a favorite among IUPUI and Ivy Tech students . It serves as a great way to network; relieve stress and rejuvenate while listening to African music from the likes of DJ DellyJay , DJXclone and the birthday boy himself , DJ Drey . Although Saturdays are always packed and Sunday are reserved for the more traditional Tungba or Highlife music, you can always find an activity going on at club kalakutah even on the week days .

This is one place i recommend you visit if you are spending a night in Indianapolis because there is always something entertaining  going on at the venue . It also houses the very famous Kalakutah restaurant , one of the few places you will find original African cuisine on the menu.
