2018 BET Award winner for best International artist and 2019 Grammy-nominated artist Burna boy have been scheduled to perform in the State of Indiana. Davido is billed to perform at the Deluxe room at old National center on the 2nd of April as a part of his “A good-time tour” of the USA, while Burna boy who will also be on tour later in the year will come much later on the 23rd of May at the Murat room of the old national center.

The event is put together by Live Nation and Duke concept and is expected to be explosive as this is the first time Afro-beat will be put on the center stage in downtown Indiana USA. This event will further strengthen the growth of Afrobeat music in this part of the world. Top Afro-beat artists in Indiana and it’s environs will also be given the opportunity to grace the occasion.

Do you remember Onosz? The talented singer from Port Harcourt who featured on Grammy Award Nominee Burna boy’s SMOKE WEED single? Yes, the same Onosz who gave us the hit E.P that featured hit singles like Last Love (Gbana) and Pariwo.

Onosz Started singing early in his life and at a point found himself in the Aristocrat camp alongside Burnaboy, Leriq and Piriye Isokrari (CEO & Founder of The Aristokrat Group). “I really enjoyed my time at aristocrat records, I believed in the movement as soon as I was introduced to Preye and Leriq by Redkad (Mazi Ifeanyi), then we were all at Port Harcourt Nigeria”. “The first day I set foot in their studio, I recorded three freestyles including Smoke some weed with Burna boy and one that featured Wande coal. I really felt like my career would accelerate at Aristocrat records but they had a really talented artist in Burna boy and that was the focus of the entire team. I am a huge fan of Burnaboy but as an artist, I wanted more and at a point, I got a bit tired of waiting on an official contract and I decided to check out other alternatives. I like the people at aristocrat records and I hope to do music business with Piriye and hopefully Jump on some Leriq produced tracks in the future because I have seen him work and I think he is one of the best in the business. The Journey so far has been amazing, I have an E.P that is doing really well on the streaming charts and singles that have opened the door to good opportunities”, Onosz continued.

The new single titled “Together” is a special dedication to celebrate women for all the times they have silently carried their men, families, and kids and still kept the love strong. They are unsung heroes. In a statement on his Facebook page, the singer said, it took him three producers and several cover art edits to get here. It is also the first single off my forthcoming E.P. Together is a wonderful love song. The track is produced by Beka Beats.

It almost seems like Port Harcourt Nigeria has its own music Industry.  The songs that blow up in PH remain in PH. Only a few PH songs make it outside of the region, but the ones that do become a national problem. Do you Remember when Mtrill surprised the world by bagging the award for Best African west in the Channel O awards ahead of Dbanj and co. , or when Waconzy’s single Celebrate occupied Nigeria and all of its radio stations. Even Duncan Mighty was a household name in PH for several years before his music slowly broke into Lagos. The Music Industry in Port Harcourt is very healthy and spiritual like it comes from the river goddess .. Hehe scratch that!

Home to acts like Duncan Mighty, Burna Boy, Timi Dakolo, Mtrill, Frank Denero, Agbani Darego, Tonto Dikeh, Adasa Cookey, and emerging talent Efezino, Port Harcourt has never been short of talents . It has a special place in my heart. It is home to a lot of my friends and family and I spent a very significant portion of my life growing up in Port Harcourt especially the time I spent at the University of Port Harcourt.

Bukwild is on the same path, his songs are heavy tunes in River state and like Duncan Mighty, he is slowly breaking into other parts of the country.  Gum Body is a Song off his EP (My Music & Sound).
