The New Piece titled JAMAIS (NEVER) by Mr. Mardo is the fruit of a collaboration with the BeninoRuisse artist by the name Kabir Trey while he was on vacation in Benin. Mardo and Kabir Trey set up an appointment in the kitchen (studio) and that meeting gave birth to this motivational piece filled with melody.

It’s goodbye 2019 and welcome 2020.

I want to welcome you to the first post of 2020. This is officially the first song on the website for 2020 and What a time to release a song! Amid all the celebrations, champagne popping, and dining I cannot believe that people are still working relentlessly to put out products. Mr. Icey starts off the year with this new song titled “On the low”. The last time Mr. Icey released a song was early in the summer when he served us the video to his smash single Shut down.

On the low is a heavy afrobeat tune laced by Teekay Witty one of Davido’s producers credited for producing the track wonder woman for Davido and several other Davido, HKN, and DMW songs.

Lala Rimka is Benin’s upcoming rap sensation. He has a style similar to Slimcase and Idowest. His Yoruba raps are quite catchy and his lyrics are witty. Gboka is a street anthem with a lot of energy and i am certain that the streets will vibe wit it.

2020 could be his year if he keeps up the tempo and stays consistent. The crown is there for the taken and the Benin republic artist is surely one to look out for in the future

Ayokarz is a Lagos state born budding Trap music act who is also an embodiment of many talents. Remember Ayokarz? The guy I introduced to you earlier in the year who make a living from body painting. Yes, that’s him. He has transferred his creativity and energy from body painting and put it into music.

Not surprised that his new song Whine is influenced by Trap music, because  Trap-music has started to get mainstream recognition in Nigeria. Firstly, Merry Christmas and a Happy New year in Advance!

Finally, the much-anticipated club bangers by Indiana and USA based Afrobeat singer Kflecz and his Twin J.Cube has dropped. We had to wait for months to finally get to listen to the songs. Kflecz and his Twin J.Cube together form an Afrobeat duet called T-Kayz. They have been on the scene for some time and been putting out Jaw-dropping music. Today Kflecs drops one single with his Twin and another with Famous Indianapolis Rapper Mr. Duke. Mr. Duke was nominated for the Best rapper category in the forthcoming Afrique Entertainment Awards.

Kflecz and Jcube are definitely priming their audience in the USA and Nigeria for what is to come next year. We may just see a video to these singles soon. Keep your fingers crossed.

It’s December 23rd and hardworking Sampson OGA is still dropping songs. The singer based in Texas USA is setting the tone for next year. “Company” is an impressive follow up to his last song and video titled Angeli.

Sampson has since been one of the shining lights in the Afrobeat scene in the USA and I am wishing him way more successes in the year 2020.

Formerly known only as “The Magic” Bolu the Magic took a brief break from releasing music, after putting out his debut project in May 2018, an EP titled “The Midnight Zone” in which he blended hip-hop, trap, and soul. He spoke deeply about some of the darkest times in life.

The artist who was introduced by Timaya is back with his first single for the year as 2019 draws to an end.

“Jam for Days” a solo effort, Bolu The Magic addresses the ladies as he sings “Hello Hello! Hello pretty ladies, I know I know, I know what to do with it”. On an afrobeat/dancehall beat with groovy percussion, laced with a happy chord progression produced by Bolu The Magic, Popito Baron, and Ayzed.

Eseurhobo Miracle Ejiro (Born 1st June 1999)  is a young Nigerian Rapper and Songwriter popularly known as RZLA. He began his music career as a Songwriter and later began recording music at the age of 16 alongside friends in a group they called “illegal gang music”.

RZLA’s music pushes boundaries and mesmerizes in a bold quest for both experimentation and intimacy, it is a fusion of African hip-hop and Afro-beats and it is quite easy to tell that he is influenced by the likes of the Afro-beat legend Fela Kuti, Lil Wayne, and Nigerian rapper Ycee. His last single “Money” enjoyed a measure of success, but he isn’t resting on that and he is here with a new hit single titled “Slow and Steady” featuring singer Pizo and produced by xtofabeatz.

We are officially in the season of parties, parties and more parties! The season where DJ’s become the world’s richest. DJ’s are about to make a fortune especially if you consider the number of end of year parties we are going to have this season. I may just consider being a party DJ for 2 months.

2019 has been an extraordinary year for Nigerian music, and the growth is expected to carry on till 2020. The music Industry might just be one of the few positives, and the only sector we experienced growth as a country.

Bowyrude is out with another good vibe. We are still enjoying his latest tune Ton Pied Mon Pied which was voted song of the week for several weeks in November on this platform. The Togolese artist says he is up to big things in 2020 and the Industry in Indianapolis should look out for him. The artist and his management also released a statement in french about the song and it reads
