I was at a party in the USA where the presiding DJ played over an hour of music without playing a song by Naira Marley. It did not take long before the crowd led by a certain Bigdemmy ; Leader of Marlians in Indianapolis started Chanting Marlians! Marlians!. From there henceforth, the DJ had no choice but to play Naira Marley songs back to back. You should have seen the crowd, they went wild!

Naira Marley has a strong movement going for him, and he has built himself a solid and fanatic fan base. It was all carefully crafted, it all started with putting out big singles and being on huge collaborations and putting out new dance moves. It all came together when he got accused of Fraud and arrested by the EFCC. This was the singular action that made him a household name and able to gather a core fan base, he became the most searched Nigerian artist on google at the time and built a fanatic fan base comparable to the club football fans in Nigeria.
